John Kenny – guitar John's attachment to the guitar began around the time he was eight, when his uncle Lorenzo would drop by the house and play Hank Williams and Johnny Cash songs on his Silvertone. By the time he was in grade eight, he was playing at church dances and school parties across Toronto in return for pop and cookies. He has since had extensive employment and musical experience in Jazz, Rock, Pop, Country, Rhythm & Blues and Ethnic bands, having performed in theatres, recording studios and on television and radio as well as nightclubs across Canada and the USA. He is probably the only musician in the business who, during his career, has jammed with the DUKE ELLINGTON BAND and performed with TVO's POLKAROO. John has taught guitar to hundreds of students, both privately and at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. He is currently a member of the American Federation of Musicians (Local 279). Christopher Newton - bass Christopher started playing music in grade 6 and was given the double bass because of his size and the fact that he thought it didn't sound as bad as the violin when played by a beginner. He continued with the bass, both upright and electric, throughout high school playing in various orchestras, stage bands, community jazz bands, and the odd rock band. Christopher studied jazz performance at the University of Toronto. Since graduating he has continued playing various styles and with various bands. Christopher is new to London and he is excited to meet other London jazz musicians at the festival.
Jeff Floyd – drums Cutting his teeth in the Old South 80's cover band "The Hollywood 10", then into the "The McAuley Boys" Drummer Jeff Floyd took a hard right into to big band at Oakridge SS in preparation for a career of jazz on the high seas.
